In May 2003, we at Artelino received our first modern Chinese art prints. We were astonished and began exploring the vibrant world of contemporary Chinese printmaking and its artists. Among them, Hao Ping stands out as an established figure whose works have been showcased in numerous exhibitions within and beyond China. His artworks are held in the collections of prominent museums across China, Korea, the UK, and the USA.
The information presented on this page about Hao Ping comes from our trusted partner in China. The final section, titled Our Personal Impression, reflects our subjective views based on the prints we have encountered.
Hao Ping was born in 1952 in Yunnan, China, a region known for its rich cultural and artistic traditions. In 1980, he graduated from the Department of Fine Art at Yunnan Art College, followed by further studies at the prestigious Central Fine Art College in 1986. Hao Ping's expertise and contributions to the art world earned him significant roles, including membership in the evaluation committee for the National Youth Print Grand Exhibition in 1990 and serving as a jury member for major print and painting exhibitions in 1992.
Hao Ping is affiliated with several esteemed organizations, including the Chinese Fine Artist Association and the Chinese Print Artist Association, underscoring his influence in the contemporary art scene.

Hao Ping’s artworks are held in the collections of prestigious museums both within China and abroad, a testament to his artistic significance:
When we first encountered prints by Hao Ping, we were mesmerized. His works reveal a world of dreams, combining vivid colors and exotic forms. Ethereal female figures seem to float effortlessly, creating a visual narrative that is both compelling and otherworldly.
The grandeur of Hao Ping’s prints is further enhanced by their impressive size, ranging from 60 x 60 cm (23.4 x 23.4 inches) to 90 x 90 cm (35 x 35 inches). The artist appears to favor square formats, which complement the harmonious composition of his designs. Each print is a limited edition, with runs varying between 30 and 200 copies. They are meticulously signed, dated, and numbered by the artist. Created using the woodcut technique with multiple color blocks, these prints are personally crafted by Hao Ping on offset paper. It is worth noting that the paper quality of his earlier works may not match the standards seen in contemporary Western art due to material limitations in China at the time.
